Specializing in the tuning, repair, and restoration of pianos

In the summer of 1957, Don Korb Sr. moved his family to St. Petersburg where he started tuning and repairing old pianos and performing nightly in a ten piece Jazz Orchestra. Don II was four years old at the time. By the time he was ten years of age, Don II worked along side his father learning the various skills of a Piano Tuner/Technician.

In 1965 The family business was formally started as Don Korb Piano Service, operated primarily by Don Sr. In the fall of 1974, Don II started his own business calling it New Life Piano Service, Inc.

His son, Donovan, joined the business in 2005 after completing his Associates of Arts Degree and he has been tuning, repairing, refinishing, and moving pianos alongside his Dad ever since. In addition to tuning in the home, Donovan has taken over the work of restoring, rebuilding, and refinishing fine quality grand pianos. You may contact Donovan at (727) 481-2488 or visit his website. Another son, Cameron, has also been involved in the business part time, helping to move as well as refinish pianos.

Cameron graduated from the College of Engineering at USF in the Spring of 2009. He currently maintains the company’s network and computer systems.

Don’s wife Tracy has been involved in all aspects of the business since their marriage in 1977 and she currently maintains the company’s records and bookkeeping. His daughter, Brieanna Smeltz, designs and maintains the website and graphic design. Brieanna also gives private piano lessons and is available for further inquiry at (727) 458-0135.

Over the years, the Korb name has come to be synonymous with pianos and their proper care. In fact, three generations of Korbs worked together to help restore a Steinway model M. which you can read about here.
